TOUGH RANGE EXTENDER
NEVER NEVER LAND a Hatteras 58 crossed the Pacific from Australia to Panama against the prevailing Trade Winds. They chose to use 2 x 900 litre (238 gallon) Turtle-Pac boat bladder tanks to extend their range instead of 90 jerry cans. NEVER NEVER LAND arrived safely in Panama. The crew proved their seamanship as well as their wise choice for long range tanks.
TYGER907 German yacht using 4 x 800 litre (212 gallon) Super Side Deck Boat Fuel Tanks en route from the Red Sea to Seychelles on the Indian Ocean.
The tanks were used extensively to cruise the Indian Ocean Islands before returning to the Mediterranean

The first SUPER MARINE DIESEL FUEL BLADDER TANKS were made in 1995 for Turtle-Pac’s owner yacht, to assist sailing around the world via the Trade Winds route, starting in Sydney. Ocean Strider completed the voyage in 5 years with stops in 240 ports in 35 countries. Two marine fuel tanks were permanently on deck, exposed to tropical sun and Northern European winter weather. On ocean crossings the forward tank was washed over by waves during heavy weather.
The Red Sea weather beat was made much easier by being able to refuel tanks underway. Both tanks arrived back in Australia in good shape and, despite losing their new look, functioning perfectly.

Insert vent hose trimmed to correct length into tanks filler hose.
End of vent hose just to reach inside tank – + 10 mm.
Connect Camlock to empty tank and lift up hose with funnel.
Use lift line to hold funnel up.
Start filling and keep speed of filling moderate therefore not over fill funnel.
Top of funnel curved surface will stop splash but not over filling…
